Entering the retail energy market as a new player means competing against established brands with significant marketing budgets. Toast Electric needed a brand that could cut through from day one, distinctive enough to be noticed, warm enough to be trusted, and clear enough to communicate a genuine point of difference.
KISSLabs won a competitive pitch to build the Toast brand from scratch. The decision to lead with a logotype rather than an icon was deliberate. The name alone, set in a typeface full of warmth and personality, became the brand. Hand-drawn details added the human touch that separated Toast from the corporate feel of the category.
